Call for Papers

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a one-page abstract in pdf format, including names of authors, affiliation with address, telephone numbers, and e-mail to wic2009@tue.nl. Authors of accepted papers will receive instructions for the precise manuscript format.

Each accepted paper will either be presented orally or as a poster. All accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings. An award will be given to the best student paper.

Paper Submission Guidelines

Please send your camera-ready paper on April 10 at the latest by e-mail to wic2009@tue.nl. We ask you to submit your contribution following these guidelines and using this .tex document.

Presentation Guidelines

We allow 12 minutes per presentation and an additional 3 minutes for questions. Please, prepare your presentation such that it fits within this strict time limit.

The lecture room offers a PC and projector. Please, bring your presentation as a PDF document on a USB memory stick. The PC also offers Microsoft Powerpoint but due to version and font incompatibility issues we recommend PDF.

Location

The 30th Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux will be held at the Eindhoven University of Technology (Zwarte Doos) in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, on May 28 and 29, 2009.

The "Zwarte Doos" is a movie theatre and grand cafe situated on the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology.

Important Dates

  • February 27, 2009: Deadline for submission of one-page abstract in pdf format.
  • March 20, 2009: Notification of acceptance.
  • April 10, 2009: Camera ready papers due and deadline of conference registration.
  • May 28-29, 2009: Symposium.

Symposium and Excursion Registration

The registration fee entitles you to participate in the symposium and includes one copy of the symposium proceedings. Also included are the lunches on Thursday and Friday, May 28 and 29, 2009, and the symposium diner on Thursday.

For the symposium participants who registered early, not after May 8, 2009, we offer a choice between two excursions, namely a visit to ASML in Veldhoven or Philips HealthCare in Best. Transportation to and from the site will be provided and is free of additional charge.
Please note that due to the limited group sizes to the sites we cannot guarantee that you will visit the company of your preference.
